# Overview When you use Apple Business Manager you do not need to use all features, you can manage only the devices and allow users to use their own Apps and AppleIDs, or you can have the devices secured to only allow approved applications. ## Devices Features such as Activation Lock will protect the device and it's data in the event that the device is stolen/lost. ### Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Securely allow employees to use their own devices for work while not being able to view/edit personal information. ### Corporate Owned Devices Devices purchased from Apple or an authorized third party can be automatically configured so that the device is ready to use with Macatawa remote management, monitoring, and security tools automatically. These devices can also be activation locked so that in the event of a stolen or missing device all the data will be protected and can be wiped remotely. ## Content A central location to purchase and deploy apps, this will help ensure that every device has the applications needed. ## People Sign into a work AppleID with your Microsoft account. This results in one less password to remember and Macatawa will be more able to help support AppleID issues. It is important to note that some features are not available when using Managed Apple IDs such as Find My and purchasing apps from the App Store, even free apps.
